By far, the easiest hole on the course to make eagle or birdie, but also the tightest driving hole, with the fairway 25 to 30 yards wide in the landing area and snuggled on both sides by trees. The green was lowered after the 1999 tournament, and a bunker that had been in front of it was removed in favor of an upsloped fairway that second shots can run up or, if they lose steam, roll back down. Mounds were added to create an amphitheater effect, and trees were removed to the right side of the green to create a steep hillside that could be trouble for a second-shot approach that has been left out to the right. The green also slants more to the right now than it did, making pitches from the right rough precarious.
